TERMINAL POKER - 200% BONUS TO €400
|
INTRODUCTION
Terminal Poker is another poker platform that is mostly mobile based. It’s very much a sign of the times and a direction which we think many other companies will be heading towards. The mobile poker market for the minute is still very much in its ascendancy, but with the advancements of products such as HTML5 and the willingness for a number of app stores – Windows Mobile included – to include gambling apps, the future looks bright for mobile poker.
What Terminal Poker has done is essentially tried to form their own network and offer their customers a way in which they can play via their mobile devices. Back when they were one of just a handful of poker rooms offering this mobile service, they were considered as a leading light within the industry. These days, the number of established poker rooms that include a mobile outlet is continuing to grow at an alarming rate and it will be interesting to see if Terminal, along with Windows Phone, can strive to stay competitive within this market place.

PROMOTIONS
One of the biggest pulls into Terminal Poker has to be their very generous $400 welcome bonus. This is actually a 200% match on your opening deposit. So, basically to acquire the maximum bonus amount you need only deposit $200 to claim the $400 bonus. The bonus gives you a 90 day period in which to clear the full amount and any bonus that is still remaining after this timescale will become void.
The fine print… To clear just $5 of your bonus you will need to rack up 1000 Terminal Poker Points whilst playing at the tables. You will receive 1 point for every 2c of rake contributed, but bear in mind that this can also be cleared at their casino and sportsbook. If you are planning on taking advantage of Terminal Pokers multi-platform app, then you need to be aware that clearing rates for casino and sportsbook markets vary. We would recommend chasing up customer support or checking out their website for more information on this.

FEATURES
The first impression of the app is actually of one that’s extremely basic. There’s little in the way of pleasing graphics or anything that really gets the creative juices flowing. The colour scheme of black, red and grey is a little dull, but simplicity from the opening sections of the app isn’t always a terrible thing as you usually get an increase in load times and usability as a result. However, it’s probably just on the wrong side of ‘basic’ and we think that a little more time dedicated to the appearance might not go a miss!
The homepage is pretty unique in that you can access both the sportsbook and the casino directly from the poker app. On top of that you can make a deposit, withdrawals, banking queries and also keep up to date with any notes linked to your account. Often they give you a host of promotions to choose from, which is a nice touch.
The poker menu brings you into the section where you can select between cash games, tournaments, hand history, table options and also a rules section, mainly aimed at beginners. The options menu allows you to change things such as your avatar, sound and four coloured deck options, which are useful features to have included.
What the Terminal Poker app dedicates its games to is speed poker. For those of you unaware as to what speed poker is, then it’s simply a version of poker where you are entered into a pool of players rather than a table. After you have made a decision with your hand you are immediately taken to another table where you make an instant decision again. Of course, if you want to play your hand then it plays out as it would normally.
There is actually a really good array of games online at Terminal, which came as a little bit of surprise. You get two types in NL Texas Holdem and PL Omaha. Stakes range from 2c/5c up to 25c/50c for each, which admittedly aren’t the largest stakes going.
The tournament feature is a great addition and again, isn’t something you see from most mobile poker apps. The games are run under the Speed poker format and range in buy in from $5 to $400, for the higher rollers amongst you. Both variations are on offer with a good number of players for each field, making them competitive with a lucrative prize pool at the end. On top of that, they run free rolls for their users, again making for good player pools.

TABLES
The tables look and feel really great. The design of them seems to suit my Nokia Lumia screen better than the iOS devices we have tested on previously. Whether this has something to do with how they are coded or what, we do not know. In all honesty it came as a bit of a surprise to see how good they actually look, as the lead up through the lobbies leaves a lot to be desired in terms of design.
Unfortunately the pleasing aesthetics were outdone somewhat by the poor gameplay whilst at the tables. In fact, it’s more of a design issue with things being pretty small to click – especially for those with larger hands – and also being somewhat unresponsive at random times. Another niggle we had was that if your screen went on to auto lock then you would need to restart the app to get back in and open up a new table.

VERDICT
Terminal Poker has come a long way over the last few years and they are defiantly a brand that should be considered for your Windows mobile poker needs. They excel in some areas and disappoints in others, but overall, it’s defiantly somewhere you should at least try.
We were a bit put off by the fiddly nature of their table and the fact that it often took a few taps of the screen for your decision to be made. In mobile poker, this just simply isn’t good enough. The aesthetics of the whole site weren’t to our taste, but as we always say, aesthetics are definitely a personal choice and what one person likes, another may hate.
On the flip side, the range of games that were on offer were of a really nice mix and it’s not often you see Omaha games thrown in for good measure. Also the inclusion of speed poker is defiantly something that we were surprised by, but works really well in the mobile format. All in all, a good effort from Terminal Poker!
